The supplement market is booming right now. In recent years, an abundance of brands have come out with sweeping claims regarding the health benefits their products may have for your body. Now, the supplement sphere is coming for the world of hangover remedies with a multitude of new products claiming to reduce symptoms the next day, or, shockingly, decrease blood alcohol content in as little as 30 minutes.
While some of these brands are backed by science and real, actual doctors, the vast majority are not. And, considering the supplement space is not regulated by the FDA, it can be difficult to sort through the brands that are actually safe and those looking to make a quick buck. This lack of regulation has frightening implications for those who may think they are able to consume vast amounts of alcohol and minimize harm through consuming these products, perhaps risking their safety in the process.
Today on the “VinePair Podcast” Adam, Joanna, and Zach discuss the shady world of unregulated hangover cures and why we just can’t help ourselves when it comes to trying to dodge the consequences of a boisterous night out. Plus, an in-depth conversation on family holiday traditions. Tune in for more.
