Hilton’s contemporary lifestyle brand Tempo by Hilton is answering the call for more non-alcoholic cocktails with a unique beverage program. Kicking off with the Tempo by Hilton Times Square flagship in New York, which opened this past August, the bar features a menu of hand-crafted “Spirited” and “Free-Spirited” cocktails.
Each beverage is a contemporary take on a classic recipe, with the “Spirited” selections highlighting refined, balanced drinks containing alcohol. The “Free-Spirited” selections, which use alcohol-free products from the Australian brand Lyre’s, otherwise mirror the “Spirited” cocktails in presentation, flavor profile, mouthfeel and sophistication.
For instance, Tempo by Hilton Times Square’s signature restaurant Highball offers a cold-brew cocktail called For The Plot that’s spiked with bourbon or made with Lyre’s Highland Malt (both recipes below).
Rather than offering just a few nonalcoholic options, the Tempo by Hilton brand gives equal billing to “Spirited” and “Free-Spirited” cocktails. The strategy reflects contemporary consumer preferences and behaviors, the company says, particularly the notion that many guests pivot between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on the same occasion.
Tempo by Hilton aims to appeal to modern travelers with a focus on wellness, premium culinary options and flexible spaces. The hotel currently has 35 Tempo by Hilton properties under development, with plans to soon debut in key markets such as Raleigh, Nashville, Louisville and San Diego.
