Well that went fast…
In the last few months we bought the company back, started shipping to the USA again after a 6 year break, and managed to pick up B2B website of the year at the eCommerce Awards (thanks guys!).
As we begin the long journey of rebuilding Master of Malt and returning to our roots, I’ve been thinking a lot about the sort of company I want us to be.
I want us to be a place for people who really love and care about Whisky (and other spirits) to discover, learn and of course buy them, but do it in a way which is always human and real. I want it to be like dealing with a real person who gives a shit – the opposite of the sort of corporation that’s always quoting legal terms and policy at you.
I want us to be a place you can get excited about discovering something new as well as the place you go to keep your old favourites in stock.
I want you to feel like we’re on your side.
When we fuck up (and we will) I want us to own it, apologise, and fix it.
We need to get the basics right – we need to have everything, at fair prices, with insanely fast delivery, and customer service people who are actually empowered to fix problems – but I also want us to be getting better every day.
We have a lot of work ahead of us. There are lots of things I want to fix, lots of mistakes to unwind, and a lot to learn.
I want to thank all of you for being Master of Malt customers and giving us your business – without you we’re nothing, and it really means a lot that you keep coming back and that you keep telling your friends about us. As a small independent business we are entirely reliant on your support, and we never take it for granted.
