Lux Row Unveils Small Batch Albariño Cask Finish

Bardstown, KY-based Lux Row Distillers has introduced Lux Row Small Batch Albariño Cask Finish.

This is a blend of 4-year-old wheated and ryed bourbons, finished for an additional six months in casks that held Albariño wine, a dry white wine known for its citrus flavors, acidity and hint of salinity.

The Albariño finish imparts aromas of nectarine, lime and grapefruit on the nose, the distillery reports, with lemon zest, honeydew and acidity on the palate.

“We wanted to combine the fruity citrus flavors of Albariño wine with the corn-influenced sweet notes of our wheated and ryed bourbons,” says Lux Row master distiller John Rempe.  “The outcome is a delicious combination of two opposing flavors that results in a truly unique expression.”

Bottled at 105 proof (52.5% ABV), Lux Row Small Batch Albariño Cask Finish will be available at Lux Row Distillers beginning in March at a suggested retail price of $59.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
