The first-ever English Whisky Week launches in April!

The English whisky scene has been quietly booming for years – and now it’s getting a proper spotlight.

The very first English Whisky Week (EWW) has been announced, running from 19–27 April 2025, with St George’s Day at its heart.

Expect nine days of distillery tours, whisky tastings, masterclasses, and more, all celebrating the talent, craft, and liquid gold coming out of English stills.

Organised by the English Whisky Guild, the week-long programme is designed to appeal to the curious newcomer and the die-hard dram-hound alike.

Distilleries from across the country will be opening doors and bottles, offering everything from behind-the-scenes experiences to limited-edition pours and one-off events. There’s already a festival celebrating whisky made in England, but this move really reflects the growth of this category.

Who wants to visit a distillery in England?

What to expect from English Whisky Week:

Tastings & Masterclasses – From smoky malts to fruity new makes, explore the spectrum of English whisky with expert-led sessions.

Distillery Tours – Go straight to the source with on-site tours across England’s growing number of producers.

Exclusive Events – Think cocktail nights, community gatherings, and plenty of chances to chat with the folks making your favourite new drams.

Interactive Map – An online tool that makes it easy to find what’s happening near you.

Katy Nelstrop, director of The English Distillery (the oldest registered whisky distillery in England), summed up the spirit of the week by commenting, “Is there a better way to spend your Easter holidays or weekend than taking a trip to your local English whisky distillery and exploring how whisky is made – or sipping a glass for the first time?”

Fielden whisky CEO Dave Smith echoed the excitement, saying “This special week will allow each of us to showcase our unique homes, our craft, and our delicious liquid. Cheers!”
