Two Stacks Single Grain Double Barrel

Whiskey brand Two Stacks just released its Single Grain Double Barrel, now available nationwide through importer Foley Family Wines & Spirits.

This is the first Two Stacks offering in the Irish Grain Whiskey category and has already been awarded Best Single Grain: NAS (Ireland) and Best Single Grain <21Years (Ireland) at the World Whiskies Awards and a Gold Medal at the Ascot Awards, according to the distillery. It is available in both a 700-ml. bottle and the 100-ml. Dram in a Can.

“I think a lot of folks in Ireland thought we were mad when we told them we were coming out with an Irish Grain Whiskey,” said Two Stacks co-founder Liam Brogan in a news release. “We were confident with the right blend and aging/finishing we could produce something rather sophisticated and unexpected that honored the legacy of this workhorse stalwart in Irish whiskey history.”

Two Stacks Single Grain Double Barrel starts with a mashbill of 94% maize and 6% Irish malted barley, according to the distillery. It features notes of pear, almond and citrus flavors. The distillate is first aged for 3-5 years in former bourbon barrels, followed by 1-3 years in Oloroso sherry casks, both in a traditional Irish rickhouse on the Cooley Peninsula.

Coming in at 86 proof, Two Stacks Single Grain Double Barrel has an MSRP of $44.99 for the 700-ml. bottle and $6.99 for the 100-ml. cans, according to the distillery.
