Fio A Fio White Wine Makes Its Debut

Evaton recently unveiled Fio A Fio, a crisp and aromatic white wine blend from Portugal’s renowned Vinho Verde region. Made by the same winemaking team behind the red blend Silk & Spice, Fio A Fio appeals to drinkers who gravitate toward sauvignon blanc, albariño and other popular whites.

A blend of three of Portugal’s native white grapes — fernão pires, loureiro and alvarinho, Fio A Fio offers a vibrant profile bursting with tropical fruit aroma, the company says. The Atlantic and Continental influence on the local grapes provides multilayered aromas, with white flowers, tropical and ripe fruits such as peach, nectarine and passion fruit.

The wine’s fruit notes are underpinned by a bright acidity and a crisp, clean finish. Fio A Fio, available nationwide at a suggested retail price of $14.99 per 750-ml. bottle, brings expressive Portuguese character and a refreshing new option to the white wine category.
