Goose Island Unveils 2025 Bourbon County Stout Lineup

Every year, Goose Island Beer Co. releases the Bourbon County Brand Stout Family in a long-running tradition from the creator of the first bourbon barrel-aged stout.

At the heart of this story is Bourbon County Brand Original Stout, the pioneering imperial stout that, more than thirty years ago, defined a style of beer.

Each variant that follows offers a unique expression, using different ingredients and barrels.

2025 Bourbon County Brand Original Stout

2025 Bourbon County Brand Cherries Jubilee Stout

2025 Bourbon County Brand Chocolate Praline Stout

2025 Bourbon County Brand Proprietor’s Stout

2025 Bourbon County Brand Double Barrel Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Stout

2025 Bourbon County Brand Parker’s Heritage Reserve Stout

Releases that focus on ingredients this year include: 2025 Bourbon County Brand Cherries Jubilee Stout, finished in aromatic cognac casks, and 2025 Bourbon County Brand Chocolate Praline Stout, aged in freshly emptied, single-use bourbon barrels. 2025 Bourbon County Brand Proprietor’s Stout, inspired by Baklava, combines toasted pistachios, walnuts and cinnamon to highlight the nuttiness and warm baking spice that barrel aging brings forward, the brewery reports.

This year also spotlights the barrels themselves. 2025 Bourbon County Brand Double Barrel Stout explores complexity through two sets of Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond barrels, while 2025 Bourbon County Brand Reserve Stout aged in 17th edition Parker’s Heritage 10-year-old rye whiskey barrels.

Additionally, for the first time in 2025, Goose Island offers 10-oz. 4-pack bottles of Bourbon County Brand Original Stout. The recipe remains unchanged, but the new format reflects a shift in occasion towards smaller drinking sizes.
