The Glenlivet Launches Beyond Speyside Scotch Series

The Glenlivet, a Speyside single malt Scotch, has reimagined its 12 Year Old with the launch of Beyond Speyside, a new series featuring whiskies inspired by destinations from around the world.

The inaugural release — The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Jamaica Edition — offers a tropical take on The Glenlivet’s signature Speyside style through a finish in casks that previously held Jamaican rum. The result is a nose of tropical aromas, fresh mango and pineapple, with hints of coconut, balanced with green apple, according to distillery notes. On the palate is fruity sweet notes of pineapple, complemented by vanilla and toffee, before a finish of fruit and caramel.

“Exploration lies at the heart of The Glenlivet,” says Kevin Balmforth, The Glenlivet Cask Master. “Guided by a spirit of curiosity, we venture beyond tradition to uncover remarkable taste experiences. We’ve long been known for our smooth, refined style – and with The Glenlivet Jamaica Edition, we’re offering a fresh take on that legacy.”

To bring the first journey of Beyond Speyside to life, The Glenlivet once again teamed up with Scottish actor and brand ambassador Thomas Doherty as he explores the cultural flavor of Jamaica in a new campaign styled by Jamaican-Scottish designer Nicholas Daley.

“My partnership with The Glenlivet has always been about honoring Scottish craft while embracing the transformative power of journeying beyond the expected,” Doherty says. “There is such a vibrancy to The Glenlivet Jamaica Edition, so I’m proud to continue my partnership with The Glenlivet in celebration of this new release.”

The collaboration will include a capsule collection launching in 2026, featuring The Glenlivet tartan on pieces designed for traveling in style.
