Blue Run Spirits Debuts Chicago Bears 1985 Championship Bottle

Blue Run Spirits just released its limited-edition commemorative bottle honoring the 40th anniversary of the Chicago Bears’ 1985 legendary 18-1 season and victory in the Big Game.

The commemorative Blue Run Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon Whiskey bottles were designed in partnership with the Chicago Bears, according to the distiller, one of the two remaining original NFL franchises. Each of the limited-edition bottles carries a custom viceroy butterfly medallion and label design inspired by the Monsters of the Midway, with the exclusive packaging identifying Blue Run as “The Official Bourbon of The Chicago Bears.”

“Few teams in sports history have left as lasting a legacy as the 1985 Chicago Bears,” said Katy McBrady, general manager, Blue Run Spirits, in a news release. “We are honored to collaborate with the Bears organization to celebrate this milestone anniversary with fans in the heart of Bears Country. This limited-edition release not only raises a glass to the historic season but also honors the tradition and spirit of the Bears’ remarkable franchise.”

The commemorative release of Blue Run’s Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 111 proof and has an SRP of $89.99, according to the distillery. The bourbon features praline and orange peel on the nose, a palate of brown sugar, nuttiness and stone fruit, and a finish highlighted by herbal white tea, peach and clove.

Blue Run’s Chicago Bears Commemorative High Rye Bourbon limited-edition bottles are now available through Binny’s Beverage Depot, Jewel-Osco, Costco and other fine retailers in Illinois, according to the distillery, as well as Seelbach’s.
