Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) has appointed Christy Moran as Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing. In this role, Moran will oversee WSWA’s strategic communications, media relations, digital engagement, brand and reputation initiatives, and marketing efforts that support member engagement and industry advocacy.
Moran, a Washington, D.C.-based communications strategist with more than 20 years of experience, will help elevate the visibility wine and spirits wholesalers nationwide by shaping the association’s narrative around key industry priorities, strengthening its presence across multiple platforms and building campaigns that communicate the value and impact of the distribution tier to policymakers, stakeholders and consumers, according to the company.
“Christy brings the strategic insight, creativity, and hands-on leadership that will enhance WSWA’s voice and strengthen our communications across all platforms,” said WSWA president and CEO Francis Creighton in a news release. “Her leadership will help us tell the story of family-owned wine and spirits wholesalers and the essential role they play in communities across the country.”
Prior to joining WSWA, Christy was a partner at Raynor Ave. Public Affairs and previously served on AT&T’s corporate communications team in Washington, according to the company. In leadership roles at communications firms Forbes Tate Partners, Weber Merritt, Qorvis Communications and Weber Shandwick, she had a successful track record shaping public narrative, advancing policy priorities and building organizational reputations across the hospitality, retail, telecom, technology, healthcare and energy sectors.
As former head of communications for the NFL Players Association/Players Inc, she led media strategy and served as spokesperson for corporate initiatives and NFL player programs, according to the company.
Moran began her career working on political campaigns and on Capitol Hill, developing a disciplined, strategic approach to messaging and stakeholder engagement.
“I am honored to join WSWA and help communicate the essential role of wine and spirits wholesalers in a strong, well-regulated marketplace,” Moran said in the release. “I look forward to partnering with the team to amplify WSWA’s voice, engage our members, and champion the story of our industry in Washington, D.C. and throughout the nation.”
Moran begins her role immediately.
