Independent spirits producer Cooper Spirits Co. just debuted a new expression in its acclaimed Lock Stock & Barrel portfolio: the ultra-rare 25-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey. This release completes the brand’s collection of high-aged rye whiskeys. The new expression is available for pre-order now and will ship an extremely limited quantity of 250 bottles in 2025.
Distilled in 1999 and drawn from Cooper Spirits’ inventory of “honey barrels”—personally selected by the late Rob Cooper from Alberta Distillers’ rickhouses—The Lock Stock & Barrel 25-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey recently received Double Gold recognition at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, according to the company.
“The 25-Year-Old is the pinnacle of our ultra-aged rye whiskey collection and a genuine time capsule from the last century,” said Chad Solomon, director of innovation at Cooper Spirits, in a news release. “This whiskey has been patiently waiting a quarter century to be experienced, developing extraordinary complexity through decades of gentle aging in Canada’s cold, dry climate. The meticulous barrel-selection process that Rob Cooper established has allowed us to create a rye of unparalleled richness and depth that showcases what happens when an outstanding distillate meets perfect aging conditions and patient stewardship.”
The Lock Stock & Barrel 25-Year-Old (111 proof, 55.5% ABV) opens with warm spice, toffee and caramelized banana, according to the company. The palate featurers treacle, toffee, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, black tea and dried cherry. The first release will be limited to only 250 bottles available worldwide at a suggested retail price of $999.99.
