The Forces at Play are Too Large and Too Interconnected to Be Addressed in Isolation

Those words from WSWA board chair Cutter Smith at this year’s Access Live event encapsulate the battle we all face today. The message about the coming together of the 3-tiers is refreshing, and is one we would like to echo throughout all our interactions with you.

A start is to keep up-to-date on happenings within each of the Bev-Al channels. Every month, we feature below some of the most read content from each part of our ecosystem. We also continue to keep you current with the latest consumer trends from our My Voice Rewards panel.

This month’s feature is the Liquor Store Experience of the Future Report, offered from both the trade and consumer perspective. It is all about broadening the customer experience. It is a benefit to all of us to create this innovative environment in this important channel, given the regulatory distribution laws which a spirit brand has to navigate. Download your copy today and lets talk about it!

Part of strengthening the customer experience is to have the right product, at the right place and at the right time. Category Management is the drum we continue to beat through our association with ARC (https://www.catman.global/). Right-sizing in-store assortment by knowing your shopper preferences is key and is something that all tiers will benefit from. Many of you are already corporate members.

It will be this subject which will be the basis of our new workshop at the ACTIVATE Advisory Board Meeting held during Beverage Industry Week in Minneapolis, June 15-17 (https://bevweek.epgacceleration.com/2026/home). More details to follow.

Please take a moment to fill out the survey – the industry wants to hear from you – really! Don’t hesitate to reach out to me at mminor@epgspecialityinformation.com. As Cutter Smith says, isolation and silos gets us all nowhere.
