Crockpot Li’l Smokies make the perfect appetizer for your any gathering! These savory little snacks are always the first to go, and you’ll be surprised how easy they are to make! Bring some to your next tailgate party or get together and watch as these little sausages disappear!
I absolutely love Little Smokies, and they are so easy to make in the crockpot. I make them for every gathering, from holiday parties to tailgates. They’re the perfect size for snacking, but if I’m not careful, I’ll eat enough to make a whole meal!
The best thing about this appetizer is that it only takes a few ingredients, yet everyone always raves about how good it is. You don’t have to tell your guests how easy they are, though!
As promised, you only need three (or four, if you choose) simple ingredients to make these Cocktail Sausages. Here’s what you need:
A package of Lil Smokies cocktail sausages
Grape jelly (jam works as well)
Heinz chili sauce
Worcestershire sauce (this is optional, but I highly recommend adding it!)
View the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post for a detailed ingredients list.
Place all the ingredients into the slow cooker and stir well to coat the sausages.
Set the slow cooker to low, cover, and cook for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
When you’re ready to serve, set the slow cooker to warm. For a nice presentation, you can garnish with freshly chopped green onions or parsley.
Sometimes I mix my jelly, chili sauce, and Worcestershire sauce together in a large bowl, then pour it over the sausages in the Crockpot. That step is totally optional, though!
You can easily double or triple this recipe to feed a crowd!
When considering how much to serve, plan about 4-5 sausages per person. The recipe’s nutritional info is calculated for 5 sausages each.
Pour the contents of the crockpot into an airtight container and store it in the fridge for 3-5 days. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave as needed.
Serve them with toothpicks, or people can use a large slotted spoon to serve themselves from the crockpot.
They typically plump up a little when they are done, and they will be warm throughout. 2 hours in the Crockpot should be plenty of time!
