David Ortiz Launches Ozama Rum

Hall of Fame baseball player and MLB announcer David “Big Papi” Ortiz is the latest celebrity to launch an alcohol brand, with Ozama Rum.

This is 100% Dominican-made rum, inspired by Ortiz’s connection to his homeland, according to the company. Ozama is named after the Ozama River of his childhood. Every bottle is 100% Dominican grown, produced, aged, and bottled under the official Denomination of Origin “Ron Dominicano.”

Ozama operates on 97% green energy, according to the company, repurposing production byproducts, and reinvesting 2% of annual proceeds into environmental and community initiatives supporting the Ozama River and local Dominican communities.

Production is led by Williams Chirinos, a Caribbean rum expert.

The three core expressions are each 40% ABV. Ozama Blanco and Ozama Añejo are both $30 suggested retail price, while Ozama Gran Añejo is $45 SRP.
