Casual dining brand BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse has debuted a collaboration with Sapporo/Stone Brewing. Aptly named the Waterfall Rice Lager for its Japanese-grown Sorachi Ace hops, it’s described as a crisp, light-bodied brew. The 4.5%-ABV lager is now available exclusively at BJ’s for a limited time.
The BJ’s and Sapporo/Stone Brewing teams developed the beer together, combining Sorachi Ace hops and German Saphir hops for subtle citrus, floral and herbal notes, all balanced by a smooth, dry finish. Brewed with pilsner malt, jasmine rice and Vienna malt, Waterfall Rice Lager is a refreshing, highly sessionable pour with a clean, extra-pale profile that’s perfect for sipping as the weather warms up, the company says.
Founded in 1978, Huntington Beach, CA-based BJ’s owns and operates over 200 restaurants across 31 states. The restaurant has been a pioneer in craft brewing since 1996, serving beers brewed at operations in four states and by independent third-party craft brewers.
