What can I make with Baileys this Christmas?

Some drinks are Christmas drinks. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them all year round, but they seem to come into their own amongst the tinsel and tidings of joy.

Baileys is a Christmas drink. A simple generous glug of it in a glass with a cube of ice will never disappoint you. But if you’d like to do a bit more with your Irish cream liqueur this season, we have a couple of suggestions. You can add Baileys to desserts, to milkshakes… the possibilities are endless.

But we’ve got two Baileys cocktail recipes below that we think you’ll love. Both are chocolatey and indulgent, one including a recent addition to our virtual shelves: Baileys Chocolate. Whether you need inspiration for a Christmas party or something for the big day itself, let these cocktails leave you in no doubt that a Baileys at Christmas is a Baileys to cherish.

The Baileys Festive Chocolate Cocktail

Baileys Festive Chocolate Cocktail

Chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings, homemade shortbread cookies, and a splash of Baileys come together in beautiful harmony in the Baileys Festive Chocolate Cocktail. Edible glitter is optional but encouraged.

Servings: 1                 Prep time: 10 mins               Cook time: 5 mins

Ingredients:

50ml Baileys Original Irish Cream

25ml Vodka

140ml cold hot chocolate

4 ice cubes

Chocolate sauce

Chocolate shavings

Edible glitter (optional)

Garnish: Snowflake Shortbread Biscuits

Method:

Crumble the shortbread cookie very finely onto a plate and mix through some edible glitter.

Hold the Martini glass on its side and swirl the chocolate sauce in (from the bottom to the top works best!) while gently turning the glass. Now, on another small plate, pour a thin layer of the dreamy chocolate sauce.

Dip the rim of the glass in the chocolate sauce, then dip into the shortbread crumbs to coat the whole rim of the glass.

Now your glass is ready, pour the cold hot chocolate, Baileys and vodka into the cocktail shaker and add the ice cubes last.

Shake it well for a couple minutes then pour into the decorated Martini glass you prepared first. Top with chocolate shavings and some edible glitter for extra sparkle. Add a festive snowflake shortbread biscuit for that final festive touch and serve.

The Classic Baileys Chocolate Martini

Classic Baileys Chocolate Martini

A choctail to end all choctails. With the new and delicious Baileys Chocolate. Swap the vodka for 25ml Don Julio Blanco Tequila, add 2 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters, and muddle in some fresh raspberries and you’ve got a Baileys Chocolate Raspberry Martini.

Servings: 1                 Prep Time: 5 mins

Ingredients:

50ml Baileys Chocolate

25ml Ketel One Vodka

10ml Simple syrup

Garnish: Shaved Belgian chocolate.

Method:

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker.

Shake and fine strain into Coupe/Martini glass.

Garnish with a sprinkle of shaved good-quality chocolate. Try not to eat it all before you garnish the drink. Do as I say, not as I do.
