The Fettercairn 1824 proves that Champagne + whisky = good.

The Fettercairn 1824

The Fettercairn 1824 is a fine example of how good whisky and Champagne are together (or a suitable sparkling wine alternative). Plus, Christmas is the time for Champagne. Why not take things up a notch? This cocktail has notes of tropical fruit, coffee, chocolate, citrus, and floral undertones and has the bonus of being a fine way to celebrate Fettercairn on its 200th anniversary. Here’s to 200 more.

Ingredients:

37.5ml Fettercairn 16 Year Old

20ml Kumquat liqueur

15ml fresh lemon juice

10ml Fettercairn honey syrup

4 dashes Banana Bitters

2 dashes Coffee Bitters

Sparkling wine to top

Method:

Shake and strain all the ingredients other than the sparkling wine. Double strain and top with the sparkling wine.

The honey syrup was made with organic honey, pure cane sugar, water, natural flavours, lemon juice concentrate, and natural honey flavours. But you can just make a simple honey syrup or even have a play around with your own recipe.
