California sparkling wine house J Vineyards & Winery has collaborated with visual artist Alexandra Grant and her art and design initiative, grantLOVE, to create LOVE Wine. This new sparkling wine will combine the two brands’ commitment to empowering women and creativity in the fields of wine and art.
LOVE Wine’s first release is a brut cuvée made from cool-climate vineyards throughout California, including the Russian River Valley, Monterey County and Mendocino County and crushed at J Vineyards’ Healdsburg, CA, winery. The wine boasts lively aromas of ripe raspberries, strawberries and cherries, along with flavors of crème brulée and cinnamon, the company says.
Grant has leveraged her voice as a visual artist to elevate the voices of underrepresented artists through grantLOVE, which supports and promotes the work of artists and arts nonprofits. She and Nicole Hitchcock, J Vineyards’ estate director and head winemaker, share the same desire to amplify voices that are often marginalized while also transforming the act of enjoying wine into an experience that connects culture, creativity and community.
LOVE Wine, which retails for $50, will be available for purchase on J Vineyards’ website on Feb. 3. Each new bottling will feature a unique label made in collaboration with a leading female-identified artist.
