Tea is trending right now, from the rise of brick-and-mortar shops dedicated to the drink to the return of high teas as a social gathering to the phrase “spilling the tea.” But at Darling Rooftop at the Park Lane New York hotel, the best tea is what’s served in their Alchemist’s Gin & Tonic.
The experience starts when server brings a chest filled with loose-leaf tea botanical fruit tea to the table for guests to select which flavor infusion they’d like in their cocktail. Bartenders then flash infuse Nolet’s Silver dry gin with the guest’s choice of tea, enhancing its aroma and depth.
The drink, served in a Bormioli glass Gin & Tonic goblet with Fever Tree tonic water, also includes aromatic spheres – Darling Rooftop’s in-house riff on boba. The rose syrup pearls, created through reverse spherification, add a delicate burst of flavor, the bar says.
The Alchemist’s Gin & Tonic is priced at $40. Guests can upgrade to Nolet’s Reserve gin for $220.
