High West The Prisoner’s Share, a limited release produced in collaboration with The Prisoner wines, has returned for 2025.
First launched in 2022, this whiskey is a blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskeys finished in The Prisoner red wine barrels for four to twelve years.
This year’s iteration of The Prisoner’s Share has a nose of Pomegranate kernels, cranberry biscotti, pecan brittle, orange zest, cinnamon bark, light roast espresso and tanned leather, according to distillery notes. On the palate is cherries, raspberry preserves on brioche toast, cacao nibs, brown butter caramel, roasted chestnuts, bergamot tea and seasoned French Oak, according to distillery notes. The finish brings black currant jam with a subtle rye spice
The mash bill breakdown is as follows:
75% corn, 21% rye, 4& malted barley (MGP)
60% corn, 40% rye (BBC)
78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley (Kentucky)
95% rye, 5% malted barley (MGP)
80% rye, 20% malted rye (High West own make)
Bottled at 102 proof, High West The Prisoner’s Share 2025 has a suggested retail price of $174.99 per 750-ml. bottle. It’s available nationwide.
