Diplomatico Rum, from Venezuela, has announced the launch of Single Vintage 2013, a limited-edition release.
Single Vintage 2013 is a blend of the three types of Diplomatico’s light distillates (standard column, batch kettle and barbet column) before aging. It’s made from reserves distilled in 2013 and matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon and ex-whiskey casks.
This rum opens with notes of toffee, fudge and toasted almonds, the distillery reports, evolving into a palate of dark chocolate, cherry, pear, dates and raisin. On the finish is a blend of brown sugar, vanilla and mint chocolate.
“The 2013 vintage is a tribute to the art of rum-making and the depth of our reserves,” says Jose Luis Ballesteros, national brand ambassador, Diplomatico Rum. “It reflects our pursuit of excellence and the remarkable flavor that emerges when innovation meets patience.”
Diplomatico Single Vintage 2013 will be available in limited quantities at retailers across the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $120. It features a redesigned bottle and packaging meant to bring modern elegance to this prestige range.
