Doggy Paddle Whiskey Canned Cocktail

Canned whiskey cocktail brand Doggy Paddle is making its debut.

Founded by whiskey enthusiast and practicing attorney Josh Garfinkel, the idea for Doggy Paddle came when Garfinkel couldn’t find a whiskey-based RTD he actually wanted to drink. “Everything on the shelf, if there was even an option, was either too sweet, too artificial too carbonated,” he said in a news release. “So, like any reasonable person, I decided to create my own.”

“Doggy Paddle isn’t just how you start swimming. It’s how you keep moving,” he added. “As someone who’s building this brand while still working full-time as a lawyer, the name is personal. It represents staying afloat, figuring it out as you go, and making progress even when it’s not perfect. That’s what this brand is all about.”

Doggy Paddle launched with its flagship cocktail: a lightly carbonated, lower-alcohol take on the modern classic The Paper Plane; made with real bourbon, orange aperitif, amaro flavor and lemon juice, according to the brand.

The brand is already gaining traction across bars and liquor stores in New York City, Westchester and Long Island, according to the brand, and is also available at select retailers in those areas.
