High West Releases Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 13

High West Distillery has officially launched A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 13.

This limited-edition whiskey takes its name from a Shakespeare play.

High West Midwinter Night’s Dram is made from the distillery’s flagship Rendezvous Rye — a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged 4-10 years — and finished in Ruby and Tawny Port barrels. Over the years, it has become among High West’s most sought-after expressions.

The mash bill is straight rye whiskey: 95% rye, 5% barley malt from MGP; 80% rye, 20% malted rye from High West.

Act 13 was bottled with no chill filtration and comes bottled at 98.6 proof. On the nose is blackberries, mandarin zest, almond shortbread, fig jam, dulce de membrillo, allspice, old vine zinfandel and plum syrup, according to the distillery. The palate brings marionberry preserves, chocolate-dripped cherries, marbled rye bread, mochaccino cinnamon bark, oolong tea, winter pine and cigar, before a finish of spiced–chai fold foam, clove-studded orange flesh and soft ginger chew.

Act 13 is available in limited quantities across the U.S., with a small quantity offered online at HighWest.com. The suggested retail price is $149.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Guests can also purchase bottles of this expression at the High West Saloon and Distillery in Wanship, UT, while supplies last.
