Southern Glazer’s Promotes Pete McLaughlin to New Role

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer’s) announced that Pete McLaughlin, executive vice president and general manager of Kentucky and Ohio, will be stepping away from his position to take a consulting role with the company, effective January 1, 2026. In this role, he will focus on legislative affairs for Kentucky and help mentor the next generation of general managers for Southern Glazer’s.

McLaughlin holds an incredible 41-year career with Southern Glazer’s. He joined in 1984 as a sales consultant with Crane Distributing that was later purchased by Southern Glazer’s in 1997, according to the company. He has held several leadership roles within Southern Glazer’s and in 2004, was promoted to the role of vice president, general sales manager for the Kentucky division. Since 2016, McLaughlin has been in his current role, serving as executive vice president for the states of Kentucky and Ohio.

“It is truly difficult to find someone who embodies leadership as consummately as Pete does,” said John Wittig, chief commercial officer, Southern Glazer’s, in a news release. “Having had the privilege of working with Pete for the majority of my career, I have seen firsthand how he skillfully navigates all types of business situations with professionalism and grace. Over the years, he has cultivated an incredible culture in the state of Kentucky, leading his high-performing teams to consistently achieve their objectives year after year. We look forward to Pete continuing to contribute to the company and benefitting from his expertise and leadership, which will remain instrumental in helping Southern Glazer’s continue to deliver exceptional results.”

Effective January 1, 2026, David Levitch, senior vice president and general manager, Kentucky and Vic Conti, vice president and general manager, Ohio, will report to Patrick Cassidy, east region president, according to the company.
