Wine 101: Spottswoode

As far as wine is concerned, Spottswoode is one of the oldest estates in Napa Valley. But it didn’t even begin as a winery; it began as a summer home that happened to have vineyards. Over the course of several decades, the property changed hands numerous times, eventually ending up in the possession of the Spotts family, who renamed it in their honor. It wasn’t until the 1980s, though, that real magic started to happen.

Today on the “Wine 101” podcast, Keith walks us through the history of Spottswoode, a pioneering Napa Valley winery and forward-thinking property that made a critical decision in the mid-1980s. Tune in for more.
