Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer’s) announced the retirement of J.B. Jarboe II, partner and general manager of Oklahoma, effective October 31, 2025.
“As J.B. begins this exciting new chapter, we celebrate a remarkable career defined by leadership, integrity, and a deep commitment to our customers and community,” said Matthew Metz, president, Central Region, Southern Glazer’s, in a news release. “His impact on our Oklahoma business and the broader industry will be felt for years to come, and we’re proud to carry forward the strong foundation he and his family have built over the past six decades.”
Jarboe has made a lasting impact throughout his 33-year career in the beverage alcohol industry, according to the company. His career started in 1992 as he joined his family’s business, Jarboe Sales Company, founded by his grandfather, Joe R. Jarboe, in 1959. As co-owner alongside his father, John B. Jarboe, the company expanded under their leadership from a 1,000-stock inventory to a leading distributor offering over 7,600 products.
In 2018, Jarboe joined Southern Glazer’s after Jarboe Sales Company integrated into its Oklahoma market, where he assumed the position of partner and general manager of Oklahoma. Under his management at Southern Glazer’s, the Oklahoma market expanded its customer base to serve more than 7,000 accounts in the state, according to the company. The venture resulted in a success for Oklahoma customers, giving them access to Southern Glazer’s data insights and an expanded selection of suppliers.
Michael Rosson, senior vice president, Oklahoma Sales, will continue to lead the Oklahoma business and will report to Derek Teter, senior vice president/general manager of Arkansas, Tennessee and Oklahoma, according to the company.
Southern Glazer’s extends its sincere gratitude to J.B. for his outstanding leadership and years of dedicated service, and wishes him all the best in his next chapter.
