It’s a new year and resolutions abound, often focusing on health and wellness. For many people, that means abstaining from alcohol for the month, which isn’t easy to do in the dead of winter. Inspired zero-proof cocktails can make it a bit easier — and of course these drinks aren’t just for January! Here are eight we like for this year, and for more no-proof beverage inspiration, here’s our 2024 mocktail roundup.

Dam Winter Punch

Course Drinks
Keyword apple cider, Apple cider vinegar, cinnamon tea, Damrak gin, honey syrup, orange juice

Ingredients

2 parts Damrak Virgin NA gin2 parts Fresh orange juice2 parts Cinnamon tea5 parts Apple cider1 part Honey syrup or ½ part honey2 tsps. Apple cider vinegarSeasonal spices: star anise cloves, cinnamon, orange zest

Instructions

Mix all ingredients in a pitcher.
Let rest for 1 hour before serving.
Garnish with seasonal spices.

Clean Slate

Course Drinks

Ingredients

2 oz. Non-alcoholic aperitivo such as Mionetto1 oz. Fresh watermelon juice½ oz. Lemon juice¼ oz. Simple syrupTop with alcohol-removed sparkling wine

Instructions

Build directly in a wine glass, starting with non-alcoholic aperitivo.
Add watermelon juice, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup to taste.
Topping with alcohol-removed brut.

Shen’s Paradise

Course Drinks
Keyword apple juice, cucumber, green tea, lime juice, Simple syrup

Ingredients

2 thin Cucumber slices3 oz. Green tea chilled1 oz. Apple juice¾ oz. Simple syrup½ oz. Lime juice

Instructions

Combine ingredients and shake.
Strain into Collins glass over ice.
Garnish with cucumber slices.

A Night in Madagascar

Course Drinks
Keyword Guava nectar, hibiscus tea, lime juice, Simple syrup, vanilla syrup

Ingredients

¾ oz. Lime juice¾ oz. Real Madagascar vanilla syrup¼ oz. Simple syrup1 oz. Jumex guava nectar1 ½ oz. Hibiscus tea

Instructions

Combine ingredients and shake.
Pour into rocks glass.
Finish with hibiscus salt (blend dried hibiscus flowers; mix equal parts hibiscus powder, salt and sugar).
Garnish a flower.

Lavender Dreams

Course Drinks
Keyword butterfly pea flower tea, lavender syrup, lemonade, sparkling lemonade

Ingredients

1 oz. Lavender butterfly pea tea simple syrup*4 oz. House-made LemonadeSplash of Fever Tree sparkling Sicilian lemonade

Instructions

Add lavender simple to the bottom of a gold-rimmed glass.
Add ice, lemonade, then top with Fever-Tree lemonade
Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel and micro flower.

Notes

*For Lavender butterfly pea tea simple syrup:, add 2 tablespoons Add 2 tablespoons of butterfly pea tea to 33 oz. of simple syrup (1:1 ratio sugar to water). Let steep until dark purple.

Ingredients

3 Fresh raspberries muddled2 oz. Earl Grey tea brewed and cooled1 ½ oz. Raspberry hibiscus syrup homemade or store-bought1 oz. Fresh lemon juiceSplash of club soda

Instructions

Muddle the raspberries in a shaker.
Add the Earl Grey tea, raspberry hibiscus syrup and lemon juice.
Shake well with ice, then strain into a glass over fresh ice.
Top with a splash of club soda, gently stir.
Garnish with extra raspberries or a lemon twist.

Sugar Roots Spritz

Course Drinks
Keyword hibiscus syrup, lime, soda

Ingredients

2 oz. House-made hibiscus syrup*½ oz. Fresh lime juiceSoda water

Instructions

Fill a wine glass with ice.
Pour in hibiscus syrup and lime juice.
Add soda water to fill the glass and stir briefly.
Garnish with an orange peel.

Notes

*For Hibiscus syrup
Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Take off heat and add ½ cup dried hibiscus flowers (we use a combination of pink and orange). Let steep for 15 minutes then strain out flowers. Cool and store in an airtight container or jar in fridge for up to 1 week.

Ritual Winter Margarita

Course Drinks
Keyword cranberry juice, lime juice, orange juice, Ritual NA agave, Simple syrup

Ingredients

2 oz. Ritual agave spirit alternative1 ½ oz. Cranberry juice1 ½ oz. Lime juice1 ½ oz. Orange juice¼ oz. Simple syrup

Instructions

Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice.
Shake until chilled.
Strain into a glass rimmed with salt.
Garnish with cranberries.
Dust with powdered sugar for an extra wintery touch.
