When Opus One, the result of a partnership between Old and New World wine experts, debuted in 1979, it almost immediately joined the scores of prestigious California wines. Its success showed the potential of a French-American winemaking collaboration. But it wasn’t the only venture that bridged the two Cabernet Sauvignon-producing powerhouses to come to the Napa Valley.
