When Opus One, the result of a partnership between Old and New World wine experts, debuted in 1979, it almost immediately joined the scores of prestigious California wines. Its success showed the potential of a French-American winemaking collaboration. But it wasn’t the only venture that bridged the two Cabernet Sauvignon-producing powerhouses to come to the Napa Valley.
Today on the “Wine 101” podcast, Keith dives into another famed partnership in Napa: Dominus. Christian Moueix — a Frenchman from Bordeaux’s Right Bank more famously known for his tenure at the helm of Château Pétrus — joined forces with the daughters of John Daniel, former owner of the legendary Inglenook winery, to create this historic, regional collaboration. Tune in for the rest.
