Kristin Beltzer Voted Incoming Chair-Elect To NABCA Board

Kristin Beltzer, Administrative Commissioner to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC), was voted incoming chair-elect to the NABCA Board of Directors.

She will assume her responsibilities in May 2026, when current Chair-Elect Chris Graham, Commissioner, Department of Revenue, State of Mississippi, becomes NABCA Chairman of the Board.

“I am truly honored and deeply pleased to serve as Chair-Elect and to help lead this organization alongside such dedicated board members, staff and industry stakeholders,” said Beltzer. “It is a privilege to work with individuals who are so committed to our mission and to the control states we serve. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place, strengthening our impact and continuing the important work that defines this organization. Together, I am confident we will foster collaboration, inspire progress and guide the organization toward an even more successful and meaningful future,” she said.

Beltzer was appointed as an Administrative Commissioner to the MLCC in April 2022. She was reappointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on June 13, 2023, to serve as Chair and re-appointed again for a term spanning 2026-2030. With more than 30 years in executive leadership and senior management, she founded KB Collaborative in 2019, a business consulting and public affairs firm. Prior to stepping into the entrepreneurial world, she served as the Director of Gubernatorial Appointments in the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder, as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she was responsible for business development, corporate strategy and providing management and policy direction to the organization.

She also worked for former Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus and spent 17 years on the staff of the Michigan Legislature. Beltzer also chaired the Haslett Board of Education, serving as a trustee from 2003-2016, in addition to serving on the Michigan Education Trust Board of Directors (MET), the Governor’s Talent Investment Board and the Arts Council of Greater Lansing. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Education for PrepNet Virtual Academy, a Grand Valley State University sanctioned charter school in West Michigan and as a Board Trustee for Parc Center for Disabilities, a center serving adults and children with developmental disabilities in St. Petersburg, Florida.

“Kristin’s knowledge and breadth of experience not only as an entrepreneur but also in the government sector balances well with NABCA’s needs as the association strategically moves forward to grow and serve all its members; government, industry, organizational partners and allied businesses that operate in the beverage alcohol space,” said Neal Insley, president and CEO. “It takes time and experience to understand the balance of, and the critical roles control systems play as they sell, regulate, enforce and contribute revenue to benefit their respective state’s budgets,” added Insley. “As a non-advocacy trade association, NABCA continues to work with our members and stakeholders to provide the very best information available to inform policy makers, governments and business entities as they navigate the beverage alcohol industry,” he said. “I am excited to welcome Kristin in her new role on the NABCA board.”

Beltzer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Public Relations from Michigan State University, and a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Western Michigan University.
