Basil Hayden Unveils New Portfolio Strategy, Golden Rye

Basil Hayden has announced a new and refined portfolio restructuring, designed with the modern whiskey drinker in mind, according to the company.

The restructuring follows a three tier system which all existing and new additions to the portfolio will fall under:

Versatility ($36.99)

This first/core level includes Basil Hayden Bourbon and and the newly launched Basil Hayden Golden Rye. “Core offerings, versatile liquids with bright tones and approachable flavors highlighting that whiskey doesn’t need to be dark, brooding or expensive to be enjoyed or understood,” according to the company.

Creativity ($49.99)

This includes Basil Hayden Toast, Basil Hayden Dark Rye and future limited-time offerings. “Creatively crafted mashbills, blends and finishes reimagine what whiskey can taste like, combining tradition with discovery,” according to the company. New releases will roll out in this tier later in 2026.

Rarity ($84.99)

This includes Basil Hayden 10-Year-Old Bourbon. “Anchored in age and refinement, elevated expressions that showcase depth, complexity, and smoothness over time,” according to the company.

In tandem with the restructure is the introduction of Basil Hayden Golden Rye, a permanent addition meant to reflect the brands newly defined first/core tier focused on versatility and approachability.

Made with the same 100% malted rye mash bill that Basil Hayden fans know, Golden Rye is meant to redefine expectations of the category with a mellow yet defined profile, according to the company. Distillery-provided tasting notes include toasted rye, warm spice and subtle florals. The suggested retail price is $36.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
