J. Lohr Updates Packaging of Flume Crossing Sauvignon Blanc

J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has updated the packaging for its 2025 J. Lohr Estates Flume Crossing Sauvignon Blanc, with the new design expected to reach the market over the next several months.

The new packaging uses a single-label design featuring illustrations of wildflowers, butterflies and other botanical elements. The wine comes in a lightly green-tinted eco-flint bottle with a Stelvin screwcap. The label retains J. Lohr’s logo and follows the recent packaging update for J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay.

The design draws on the Arroyo Seco region of Monterey County, where J. Lohr farms estate vineyards. Founder Jerry Lohr planted his first grapevines there in 1972. Flume Crossing joined the J. Lohr Estates portfolio with the 2012 vintage. The wine takes its name from a water channel crossing Reliz Creek.

“As consumer demand for sauvignon blanc continues to increase, we wanted the package to tell the story of the remarkable place where this wine was grown,” said J. Lohr Winemaker, White Wine Kristen Barnhisel. “The Arroyo Seco corridor is a unique biome, home to an incredible tapestry of plant and animal species; these healthy ecosystems are as important to producing high-quality wines as are our time-tested, traditional winemaking techniques. This artful new presentation reflects both the wine inside the bottle and the landscape that inspired it.”

The 2025 Flume Crossing is made from 100% sauvignon blanc. J. Lohr fermented 63% of the wine in stainless steel and 37% in acacia and neutral French oak barrels.

The wine comes from the Arroyo Seco appellation, where afternoon winds from Monterey Bay and cobblestone soils influence the growing conditions. The 2025 vintage has aromas of honeysuckle, key lime, fig and sweet herbs, with flavors of kiwi and grapefruit, according to its producer.

J. Lohr also identifies Flume Crossing as a Certified California Sustainable wine. The certification seal appears on the bottle’s back label.

The wine comes in 750-ml. bottles and is also available to on-premise accounts through J. Lohr’s reusable stainless steel keg program. The winery distributes Flume Crossing nationally and lists a suggested retail price of $14.
