Lawson’s Finest Liquids Launches First Nonalc Beer

Lawson’s Finest Liquids has launched Sip’N, its first non-alcoholic IPA. The beer contains less than 0.5% ABV and will be available in 12-oz. six-packs beginning in mid-August in markets where the brewery sells its products.

Lawson’s Finest developed Sip’N using Citra and Mosaic hops. The brewery describes the beer as offering tropical fruit, stone fruit, pine, floral and fresh-cut grass aromas. It has a light straw color, medium body and mild sweetness balanced by hop bitterness. Each can contains approximately 100 calories.

“At Lawson’s Finest, we’ve always believed that every beer we put our name on has to deliver an exceptional drinking experience,” said Founding Brewer Sean Lawson. “As more people look for ways to enjoy great beer in more moments, creating a non-alcoholic IPA became the natural next step for us—but only if we could do it the Lawson’s Finest way. Sip’N is another way to bring people together over great beer, no matter the occasion.”

The brewery uses a maltose-negative yeast during fermentation that limits alcohol production. Lawson’s Finest said the process differs from methods that ferment beer to completion before removing alcohol through processes such as reverse osmosis or vacuum distillation.

According to the brewery, the approach allows it to develop the beer’s hop character, aroma and body during the brewing process rather than removing alcohol after fermentation.

Lawson’s Finest will cold store, cold ship and cold shelve Sip’N. The brewery lists a 90-day shelf life for the product.
