Willett to Release Cask-Strength Pot Still Reserve Bourbon

Willett Distillery will release Willett Pot Still Reserve Cask Strength, a cask-strength version of the company’s wheated Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey.

The bourbon uses a mash bill of 65% corn, 20% wheat and 15% barley. Willett enters the bourbon into barrels at 115 proof and bottles the finished whiskey at natural cask strength without proofing down.

The final proof will vary by batch, and appear on each bottle.

Willett plans to release the bourbon twice a year, around the spring and fall equinoxes. Each release will carry a batch-specific proof.

The bourbon uses Willett’s pot still-shaped bottle, which the distillery says Even Kulsveen designed as a replica of the patented Willett pot still built by Vendome Copper and Brass.

“The Pot Still bottle is part of Willett’s identity, and it carries the vision of Even Kulsveen every time it is placed on a shelf or poured at a bar” said Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen. “Releasing this bourbon at cask strength gives whiskey drinkers a new way to experience the wheated mash bill—full proof, full bodied and presented in a bottle that means so much to our family.”

Willett Pot Still Reserve Cask Strength will be available nationally at a suggested retail price of $67 per 750-ml. bottle.
