Barefoot Wine is one of the most instantly recognizable brands in the beverage industry. Owned by E&J Gallo Winery since 2005, the brand has become known for its approachable and casual take on winemaking and selling. Founder Davis Bynum made Barefoot’s first wine out of his garage in California in 1965. Today, Barefoot is a mainstay at grocery and liquor stores around the nation.
Now at the helm of the brand’s production is winemaker Jen Wall. She’s been in that seat for over 30 years and with that has had the unique perspective of watching the brand evolve throughout the 21st century.
On this special episode of the “VinePair Podcast,” Adam speaks with Wall about her long history with the brand, how it has grown into one of the largest players in the American wine industry, their ongoing partnership with the National Football League, and their recent launch into TetraPak single-serves.
