Welcome to our Saturday Morning Newsletter!
What Have I been up to, you ask?
Baking, baking, and MORE baking!! I’ve been putting the finishing touches on our 12 Days of Cookies, and I can’t believe we’ll be starting it NEXT FRIDAY!!! I hope there’ll be something for everyone. I’ve tried to vary the recipes, but unfortunately there won’t be any dietary related cookies (no sugar-free, gluten free, etc.) as those recipes tend to use ingredients I don’t typically work with. You. know I’m all for the sugar and like giving Santa that little extra boost he’ll need to finish his rounds even if he is a tad heavier when he goes back up the chimney.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, though I know for many the holidays can be very difficult because of loss, conflict or health, so for you I send some extra love. I’m making a more conscious effort to be thankful for just the little things I’ve so often taken for granted – the smell of the fall leaves, the incessant good morning kisses from our pup, Logan (I KNOW, you thought I was going to say my husband, Kurt!! LOL), the time I’m able to spend with friends and family, and the incredible love and support I receive from you! I wouldn’t be doing this without you, and I am so very, very grateful that I am. YOU have made a profound difference in my life and I am blessed. Thank you.
I know the roast turkey is the main event of any Thanksgiving dinner. But honestly, this is the food I crave all year long: that first turkey sandwich made with your Herb Roasted Turkey and smothered in all the delicious leftover Thanksgiving food. There’s nothing like it!
Every year, we eat our main meal at 1 pm, so we can have turkey sandwiches while watching the football game on Thanksgiving night.
Try this Leftover Turkey Sandwich!
I absolutely love a chicken pot pie, but in all honesty, I was head over heels in love with this Turkey Pot Pie Soup when I made it! It’s so easy and hearty, full of vegetables and savory flavor that it’s going to be another perfect post Thanksgiving recipe. You know you’re going to have more turkey left over even after you make those sandwiches.

If you’re looking for the perfect holiday cookie for your next party or cookie exchange, you must make these Peppermint Frosted Sugar Cookies. These pillowy soft sugar cookies, like the ones you find in the grocery store, are frosted with a hint of peppermint and topped with crushed candy canes, giving it that special holiday flavor.

I have M-A-N-Y of these silicone spatulas in my kitchen because I cannot live without them. GIR (Get It Right) makes a great product. Their spatulas come in different sizes, are sturdy, dishwasher safe, BPA & BPS free, heat resistant, and heavy. But the thing I love most about them is that they are ONE unit that has no seams and no parts that will become moldy or fall off when you’re mixing your batter. I also love their Spoonula, too – it’s a spatula and spoon combination!
They’ll make great stocking stuffers for all of the adult and kid chefs in your life this season, too!
