It’s World Dram Day 2024!
World Dram Day is coming! Don’t be alarmed if you don’t already have this day marked in your calendar because it’s a new thing. 2024 is the first year of World Dram Day but it’s going to become a fixture right up there with British Pie Week (first week of March), National Shawarma Day (15 October) and International Talk Like a Pirate Day (is that still going?)
The first World Dram Day will take place on 25 April and then will be an annual celebration on the last Thursday of April.
So what is World Dram Day?
No drama, it’s simply a day devoted to the dram, the perfect tasting measure for whisky or any spirit. For the past 14 years we at Master of Malt have been discovering and decanting the finest liquids into handy sip-sized portions, so what better way to shout about this illustrious heritage than by devoting a whole day to drams?
At Master of Malt we want to democratise premium spirits, so everyone can have the chance to try incredible liquids, without having to invest in a whole bottle. There will also be something happening irl, as the youngsters say. On World Dram Day, 25 April, there will be an all-day event by Drinks By The Dram and Dram Bar in Central London. Featuring free one-on-one whisky consultations with Dave Worthington, the Global Brand Ambassador for That Boutique-y Whisky Company, as well as an adult pick ‘n’ mix (sounds rude, isn’t) where anyone can select delicious drams to take home with everything from whiskies through to gins, vodkas and rums.
The event will run from 10.30am to 7pm Thursday 25 April at Dram, 7 Denmark St, London WC2H 8LZ, it is free to attend but RSVP is necessary.
