Easter Chex Mix Ingredients

I love combining salty snacks that have a nice crunch with sweet treats for that perfect bite. Here’s what you’ll need to make this salty-sweet snack mix:

Rice and Corn Chex cereal (or use the Chex flavor of your choice!)

Bugles (I use the original, but if you want your mix sweeter you can use the caramel variety)

Pretzel Squares

Melted Butter

Brown Sugar

Vanilla Extract

Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish Grahams

Hershey’s Polka Dot Cookies & Cream Eggs

Brach’s Tiny Jelly Beans

Pastel Blend Easter M&M candies

Peeps Marshmallows (I used Party Cake, but you can use any flavor!)

Check the recipe card below so you know exactly how much you need of each ingredient for this sweet treat!

How to make Easter Bunny Trail Mix

This “bunny bait” trail mix is so easy to make, and you can even make it ahead of time!

First, preheat the oven to 250 degrees F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereals, Bugles, and Pretzel Squares.

Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stove in a small saucepan, then pour it into a small bowl along with the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Stir until combined, though it should be a bit runny so you can easily pour it over the cereal mixture.

Pour the sugar mixture evenly over the cereal mixture while stirring to coat it completely.

Spread the cereal mix into an even layer onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through. Let it cool completely after removing the snack mix from the oven.

Transfer the cooled snack mix into a large bowl and add the candies. Mix well and serve!

How to store Easter Chex Mix

This sweet snack is best stored at room temperature in an airtight container. It will stay fresh for 3-4 days, though it may soften over time.

Recipe Variations

You can include just about anything you want in this spring snack mix! Here are some other ideas for mix-ins:

Use plain or fruity mini marshmallows instead of Peeps.

Stir in white chocolate chips.

Use pretzel sticks or mini pretzels instead of squares.

Add in some Robins Egg malted candies.

Sprinkle with Easter-themed sprinkles before serving.

Add in other cereals like Honey Nut Cheerios or Golden Grahams.
