Our Head Buyer, Nicole has put together a list of the best Easter wines that capture the essence of Spring and are going to pair perfectly with whatever is on your plate!

Guillaume Aurele Pinot Noir

First and not surprisingly, a classic Pinot Noir is top of our best Easter wines list. Guillaume Aurele takes the top spot as the best Pinor Noir. This is a French dry red produced in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of the south of France. It’s grown on one of the cooler vineyard sites near the Mediterranean, allowing a more natural approach and keeping freshness and balance in the wine. Guillaume Aurèle Pinot Noir presents as a gentle and fruity red wine, boasting enticing aromas of morello cherry and violets. On the palate, it offers ripe raspberry notes, creating a delightful symphony of flavors. This wine is a delectable choice, showcasing an abundance of luscious red fruitiness.

Best Served With

We will kick off our wine and Easter meal pairings with the most traditional dish, lamb. If you are looking for a wine to specifically pair with lamb, Guillaume Aurele Pinor Noir is the one. Whether it’s grilled chops, roasted leg of lamb, or lamb stew, this wine pairs well with the rich and savory flavours. The wine’s fruitiness can balance the meat’s richness and enhance its natural flavors.

Cramele Recas Solara, Orange, Viile Timisului, Romania

Whilst orange wine is gaining more popularity, it still represents a niche category compared to mainstream wines such as reds, whites and rosés. At DrinkWell, we have a small but high-quality collection of orange wines. Out of this category, Cramele Recas Solara is our best reviewed. With hues resembling dark straw and touches of orange, this wine presents a delicate fusion of scents including quince, poire william, and subtle notes of vanilla on the nose. Offering complexity and structure, it delivers refined yet understated fruit notes reminiscent of stone fruits.

This combination creates an interesting and refreshing white with intense and delicate aromas, evoking notes of Muscat, white blossoms, and flint. The palate offers a harmonious balance and a lingering varietal character.

Traces Rosé

Made alongside Traces Sauvignon Blanc is its sister drink, Traces Rosé. Like the Sauvignon Blanc, the delicious grapes used to make the rosé are harvested early in the morning to reduce the sugar volume found in them. The grapes are also harvested 2 weeks earlier than normal from Precosé vines in mid-August to ensure the process can remain 100% natural. Traces Rosé is a succulent wine filled with red berry fruit characters, with herbaceous and grassy notes for a delicious balance of fruit and crisp refreshing dryness.

Best Served With

Traces rosé wine’s versatility and refreshing qualities make it a fantastic accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes. We particularly enjoy it with grilled poultry dishes like grilled chicken, turkey burgers or chicken skewers.
