New Orleans–based Crescent 9 THC Seltzer is the No. 1 selling THC beverage brand in U.S. grocery stores, liquor stores and convenience stores nationwide, according to NielsenIQ data.
Now that insight giant Nielsen is tracking sales of THC beverages in the U.S., its newly released NielsenIQ data has confirmed that Crescent 9 — the flagship line from cannabis manufacturer Crescent Canna — is leading the category.
“Third-party data matters, and Nielsen’s reporting on THC beverages proves this is not just a flash in the pan but a very real industry,” said Joe Gerrity, CEO and co-founder of Crescent Canna, in a news release. “It’s proof that THC drinks are becoming a genuine alternative to alcohol. We’ve always believed that THC drinks deserve a place right next to beer and hard seltzers on store shelves. Nielsen’s data shows that retailers and consumers feel the same way.”
According to the NielsenIQ data, Crescent Canna has quickly built a robust retail footprint, with more than 7,000 accounts in 21 states. Distribution partners include:
Woodman’s Markets and Festival Foods, two grocery chains in Wisconsin.
Total Wine & More carries Crescent Canna’s beverages in 14 states.
Circle K stores in Florida and Georgia.
The Fresh Market stores in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Winn-Dixie, one of the largest grocery chains in Florida.
Rouses, the largest grocery chain in Louisiana, with stores in Mississippi and Alabama as well.
“Consumers are choosing Crescent 9 because it’s delicious, affordable and provides the highest level of refreshment without the hangover,” said David Reich, CMO and co-founder of Crescent Canna, in the release. “The Nielsen rankings confirm what we’re seeing on the ground, that THC drinks are becoming a mainstay of beverage aisles everywhere.”
