Family-owned and operated Tequila El Mexicano just launched Tequila El Mexicano Añejo.
Tequila El Mexicano Añejo represents the fourth addition to the premium tequila portfolio established by the Bañuelos family, according to the brand, which also includes Blanco, Blanco 90 and Reposado. The Añejo is crafted exclusively from fully mature, hand-harvested 100% Tequilana Weber Blue Agaves aged for a minimum of six years and sourced from the Highlands region.
“I was searching to craft a tequila that could be enjoyed with enough time to appreciate the woody notes,” said master tequilero León Bañuelos Sr. in a news release. “This is a perfect sipping tequila that is the ultimate complement to a nice meal with family and friends.”
On the nose, Tequila El Mexicano Añejo unveils aromas of orchard fruit and cedar unfolding into layers of orange marmalade and citrus peel, chamomile and cooked agave, according to brand notes. The palate opens with orange marmalade and sweet cooked agave, followed by mineral-driven depth. Roasted pineapple and cocoa nibs develop through the mid-palate.
Tequila El Mexicano Añejo is available for purchase nationally (SRP $50).
