The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has introduced Little Book Chapter 10: “All the Wiser,” the latest release in Freddie Noe’s annual Little Book whiskey series.
The release marks the 10th edition in the Little Book lineup, which Noe launched as an experimental blending series inspired by his grandfather Booker Noe’s approach to whiskey production.
According to the company, Chapter 10 reflects a change in Freddie Noe’s blending philosophy. Rather than focusing on precision blending, “‘All The Wiser’ reflects a more intuitive approach, one that embraces the unpredictability of blending and allows the whiskey itself to lead,” the company stated in the release.
The blend includes whiskey drawn from multiple aged expressions within the company’s portfolio, including components finished in sherry casks and toasted bourbon casks.
Little Book Chapter 10 carries a suggested retail price of $159.99 per 750-ml. bottle. The whiskey comes bottled at 122.6 proof, or 61.3% ABV.
The company provided the following tasting notes for the release:
Color: Deep auburn
Aroma: Layers of fig, raisin and molasses
Taste: Full-bodied with caramel, cinnamon and oak
Finish: Oak and raisin on a long finish
