Copper & Cask has released two limited-edition whiskeys tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the U.S. The releases include a bourbon and a rye whiskey, both developed under the direction of Barrel Master Stephen Corrigan.
The first release, Wave That Flag, is a 9-year double oak bourbon finished in custom American Oak Wave Stave Char #1 barrels. According to the company, the finishing process produces notes of caramel, fruit and toasted oak. Copper & Cask produced 3,000 bottles.
The second release, Boston Rum Party, is an 8-year rye whiskey finished in rum casks for more than one year. Copper & Cask said the whiskey combines rye spice with sweetness from the rum cask finish. The company produced 2,000 bottles.
Copper & Cask will donate $1 from each bottle sold to Arcadia Center, a veteran farmer training program. Corrigan has worked with the organization for nearly 15 years and has supported veterans transitioning into careers in sustainable agriculture.
Both whiskeys are available through Copper & Cask retail partners and online at copperandcaskspirits.com. Each expression carries a suggested retail price of $74.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
