Ironstone Vineyards Acquires CA Wine and Beverage Brands

The Kautz family, owners of Ironstone Vineyards, has acquired a portfolio of California wine and beverage brands from Allan Lombardi, owner of Thomas Allen Winery. The acquisition took effect Aug. 25.

Quintessential Wines, Ironstone Vineyards’ U.S. sales, marketing and distribution partner, will represent the acquired brands nationally.

The portfolio includes Hook or Crook Cellars, Provenance Vineyards, Fortitude by Provenance, Red Phoenix, Thomas Allen Winery, Samuel Lindsay Wines, Landing 63, Weekday Wines and Weekday Water.

“We’re excited to welcome these brands into our portfolio and build on the strong foundation already in place,” said Joan Kautz, global head of sales and marketing for Ironstone Vineyards. “Our family’s longstanding relationship with Allan Lombardi and his team will help ensure a seamless transition for customers and partners. We see tremendous potential to build on each brand’s strengths and expand their reach.”

Quintessential co-owner Dennis Kreps said the acquisition expands the company’s California wine portfolio: “We have great respect for the Kautz family’s commitment to quality and deep roots in California wine,” he explained. “These brands broaden the range of high-quality, affordable California wines we can offer, from expressive Lodi wines to premium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.”

Provenance Vineyards, founded in 1999, focuses on Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon along with wines from the North Coast, Monterey and Paso Robles. Fortitude Cabernet Sauvignon by Provenance Vineyards is sourced from vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville, Diamond Mountain, Yountville and Howell Mountain.

Hook or Crook Cellars produces Lodi wines including Cabernet Sauvignon and a Reserve Field Blend. Thomas Allen Winery produces Lodi Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Red Wine Blend.

Red Phoenix includes Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a California Red Wine Blend. Samuel Lindsay Wines offers Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Red Blend.

Landing 63 includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Heritage Red. Weekday Wines uses organically grown grapes and offers Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines contain zero sugar, 80 calories and 9% ABV.

The acquisition also includes Weekday Water, a still vodka-based canned cocktail with natural fruit flavors, zero sugar, 90 calories and 4.5% ABV.
