This dump and bake creamy sausage pasta is my kind of dinner: throw everything into a baking dish and let the oven take it from there. No boiling noodles, no browning sausage, and no sink full of dishes afterward.
Boursin Adds SO Much Flavor: It melts right into the sauce and adds creamy garlic and herb flavor without a long list of seasonings.
Make it Your Own: Switch up the sausage, vegetables, or pasta shape based on what your family likes or what you already have.
The leftovers are worth saving: The creamy pasta reheats well for an easy lunch the next day.
Pasta: I used penne pasta, but bowtie or rotini would work as well!
Sausage: Pick your sausage flavor! I used a mild sausage, but if you like spicy, go with that!
Veggies: I love the combo of broccoli and tomatoes! Sometimes I switch it up and use zucchini and peppers. Pick your favorite veggies!
Boursin Cheese: Don’t leave this out! It’s a flavor bomb of creamy goodness that you don’t want to miss. A feta block can be used if you’re in a pinch, but the Boursin cheese is next level!
One-pan creamy sausage pasta is a complete meal on its own. With pasta, sausage, and vegetables baked into one dish, you do not need to make anything else. If you love a hands-off dinner, try my one-pan baked ramen noodles
Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 x 13 x 2-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add the uncooked penne, sliced smoked sausage, broccoli, tomatoes, heavy cream, chicken broth, salt, and Italian seasoning to the prepared dish. Stir to combine and make sure the pasta is mostly covered by the liquid.
Add the cheese: Place the Boursin cheese in the center of the dish.
Cover and bake: Cover the dish tightly with foil, then bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and stir until the melted cheese is incorporated into the sauce. Bake uncovered for 10 minutes, or until the pasta is tender. Stir the pasta, then let the creamy sausage pasta rest for 5 minutes before serving. The sauce will thicken as it sits.
Seal the foil tightly: Trapping the steam helps the uncooked pasta soften properly.
Casserole Dish: Use a 9 x 13 x 2-inch dish so the pasta cooks evenly.
Wooden Spoon: Makes it easy to mix everything together.
Foil: Cover the dish tightly to hold in the steam and cook the pasta.
In the refrigerator: Let the pasta cool, then store it in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
To reheat: Microwave individual servings until warmed through. Add a splash of milk before reheating to loosen the sauce and bring back its creaminess.
