Knob Creek Unveils 12 Year Old Cask Strength Bourbon

The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has released Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon bottled at 121.2 proof (60.6% ABV).

The bourbon spent 12 years aging in charred American white oak barrels. The company selected barrels from 10 lots at its Clermont, KY rickhouses before batching and bottling the bourbon at cask strength.

The company describes the aroma as caramel, char and dried apple. The palate includes butterscotch, dried apple and seasoned oak, while the finish includes caramel and cinnamon.

“Knob Creek has always been about giving great bourbon the time it deserves. After twelve years in the rickhouse, this batch had the depth and full flavor we were looking for, and we knew we wanted to share it exactly as it was,” said Freddie Noe, eighth-generation master distiller at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. “Cask strength means the barrel gets the final say, and with this one, we were more than glad to listen.”

Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength is available nationwide for a limited time. The suggested retail price is $89.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.

This follows the recent release of Knob Creek 9 Year Old: Independence Edition.
