The Haunting Halloween Bars Popping Up

Miracle Cocktails, the company behind the Christmas cocktail pop-up bars Miracle and Sippin’ Santa, is unveiling its first-ever Halloween experience this fall. The Haunting makes its debut in October with at least 40 cocktail bars across the globe participating in the new pop-up.

The Haunting is inspired by childhood haunted houses, glowing jack-o’-lanterns, vintage Halloween decorations, eerie ghost stories and late-night horror movie marathons. Participating bars (see below for list) become holiday hideaways filled with over-the-top decor, original cocktails, exclusive collectible glassware and spooky surprises around every corner.

The pop-up bar’s inaugural cocktail menu, developed by Miracle vice president Joann Spiegel, features a mix of bold flavors, unexpected ingredients and playful presentation. Creations such as the Widow’s Whisper, made with vodka, chocolate, melon, lychee, matcha, yuzu, cardamom, rose and absinthe; Scream-sicle, (blanco tequila, spiced vanilla liqueur, aperitif, carrot and orange cordial, habanero, lemon); Poison Apple (calvados apple brandy, bonded rye whiskey, fino sherry, bitter apple, miso—full recipe below); Liquid Lobotomy (The Haunting rum blend, falernum, pumpkin-spiced pineapple, lime, aromatic bitters); and Clown Pear-anoia (mezcal, aperitif wine, French bitter, pear, fennel, yogurt, lemon) capture the fun, mystery and mischief of Halloween.

Guests can also enjoy spirit-free options including the Hollow Threat, made with pear, fennel, yogurt and white verjus. A seasonal shot called the Pumpkin Payback (calvados, ginger, sage, and lemon) is served with an exclusive collectible Haunting shot glass that guests can take as a keepsake.

The Haunting has its own collection of exclusive collectible glassware and mugs, available only at participating pop-up locations. This continues one of Miracle’s signature traditions of giving guests a keepsake to remember the experience long after holiday ends.

Greg Boehm, founder/CEO of Miracle and The Haunting says that The Haunting will be a holiday tradition, just as Miracle has become. Since the first Miracle Christmas cocktail bar popped up in 2014, the concept has expanded to more than 300 locations worldwide that transform into immersive holiday destinations each winter.
