Old Forester launched the Tribute Series on Oct. 15 with a 12-year-old bourbon bottled at 115 proof.
The annual release features a decanter inspired by the brand’s holiday bottle collection, and carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $299.99.
The 2026 inaugural release will reach select retailers nationwide in limited quantities.
The Tribute Series combines aged bourbon with packaging inspired by Old Forester’s design history. The brand said the series will use its highest age-stated whiskey stocks rather than single-barrel or single-lot selections. Future releases will be bottled between 110 and 125 proof.
“The Tribute Series celebrates the craftsmanship and innovation that has defined Old Forester for generations,” said Caleb Trigo, assistant master distiller. “By bringing together some of our most mature whisky and drawing inspiration from an important chapter in our design history, we’ve created an expression that honors where Old Forester has been while showcasing what makes our whisky distinctive today.”
The 2026 release features notes of cherry and candied walnuts, followed by cinnamon and cardamom, according to the distillery. The brand describes the finish as featuring toasted oak, peppercorn, cherry preserves and black tea.
The decanter draws inspiration from Old Forester’s holiday collection, which debuted in 1950. From 1954 through 1969, the brand released annual decanters as part of its holiday gifting lineup. The Tribute Series bottle incorporates vertical glass facets, metallic accents and a metallic stopper engraved with the brand’s historic quality statement.
Old Forester said the annual series will recognize the brand’s history of bourbon production and packaging, including its twice-barreled expressions and heat-cycled maturation process.
