Jack Daniel’s Bottles Whiskey With McLaren Formula 1 Team

Jack Daniel’s has announced the limited release of Jack Daniel’s Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey, a collaboration with McLaren Formula 1 Team.

The company said this release marks the most limited global release in the brand’s history.

“We are thrilled to continue to celebrate many fantastic years of partnership with McLaren with the debut of our most exciting collaboration yet – a remarkable bottle that is destined to become a collector’s item for Formula 1 fans and whiskey drinkers alike,” says Mark Bacon, senior vice president and global managing director for Jack Daniel’s. “Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey embodies our shared values of innovation, excellence and ambition.”

The release features packaging inspired by the HALO safety structure used on McLaren Formula 1 race cars. The bottle includes a hand-finished cork and custom medallions. The packaging incorporates alloy metal, micro-suede and carbon fiber print materials inspired by those used in McLaren race cars.

“Jack Daniel’s Halo MK1 is a great expression of what our partnership represents, precision, craftsmanship and a shared respect for heritage,” says Louise McEwen, chief marketing officer for McLaren Racing. “By drawing inspiration from our racing innovation, and honouring the legacy of Bruce McLaren, this release brings together McLaren’s racing DNA and Jack Daniel’s whiskey making tradition in a way that feels both authentic and truly collectible.”

The whiskey uses Jack Daniel’s grain bill of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley, charcoal mellowed through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal. Aging occurred in new American white oak barrels built from staves aged outdoors before barrel construction. Jack Daniel’s bottled the whiskey at 58.7% ABV, or 117.4 proof.

The release is meant to honor McLaren Racing founder Bruce McLaren, whose first race car carried the number 58.

According to Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher, the whiskey features notes of maple, fruit and toasted oak on the nose with caramel, chocolate, pipe tobacco and baking spice on the palate. The finish includes barrel spice and brown sugar candy notes.

Jack Daniel’s Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey is available in select global markets in limited quantities through the brand’s website. The suggested retail price is $599.99 for a 1-liter bottle.

This follows the recent launch of Jack Daniel’s Special Release Small Batch Rye.
