An Artsy Cocktail Inspired By A Classic Matisse

The iconic Matisse Femme au chapeau (Woman with a Hat) has captivated audiences for more than a century with its expressive style and role in redefining modern art. With the painting now on view at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), The St. Regis San Francisco has created a limited-time cocktail in its honor.

The Atelier Matisse reflects the artist’s fearless approach to color and composition through an unexpected blend of bourbon, grilled corn, citrus and absinthe. Made with Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style bourbon, the cocktail is finished with pink sugar, black salt, and charred corn, creating a vibrant expression of flavor, creativity and craftsmanship.

Priced at $35, the Atelier Matisse will be offered exclusively at The St. Regis San Francisco Bar through Sept. 13, while the painting is on view as part of the museum’s exclusive exhibition, Matisse: Femme au chapeau: A Modern Scandal.
